Anyone want Custom 1157 turn signals/parking lights?

I've been in contact with a guy I know that has done some custom LED work for me in the past. I'm getting him to make a custom 1157 LED bulb that has a parking light that is "hyper white" but it still blinks a bright amber to keep things legal. It looks kinda like the one pictured below and will cost around $20 for the pair with a life time warrenty.

Here is a picture of the bulb in my old Maxima.

The only catch is that he wants 25 buyers before he puts them into production. Do you guys want a product like this or is it just a waste of time?

About $? It's legal to have white in front as long as not visible from side, though switching colors would look cool.

edit: never mind about $, duh!

Hamy, how long did you have your other ones? being leds I'm sure they'll last plenty long. but for 20, I'm okay wit no park lights and just blinkers.

This guys site speaks for itself. He sells all kinds of LED stuff and of course he has an application for the tails.

www.autolumination.com

If you look at that picture of the bulb it will work out perfect...white on the sides and amber blinker on the top. For those biatchin about hte price....its $20! Thats not even a tank of gas. The HIDs will look so much better with white running lights rather than amber. Anyhow...I'll get this guy working on a test piece so I can see how its going to work.

I bought leds from them a while back...wasnt as bright as I liked them to be. the tail light/turning bulbs are small to begin with, so the tiny leds wont shine as bright. Hopefully these are new and inprove though

sure I'm in

Hey with LEDS, since they use less wattage, if you stick them in the socket, they will blink rapidly. Hopefully this guy can throw in the those little convertors needed for them to work correctly.

Update: I talked to the guy today. He says hes working on color changing LEDs. Meaning each LED has two colors. So all would light up white, then they would all light up amber when the turns are on. Problem is hes looking to charge $50 for those bulbs. I think the first idea will work fine. The status right now is I'm trying to have him setup a place on his site for us to preorder so he can start production. With any luck he will get me a test set this week so I can show you how they will work.

Instead of 2-color LEDs, can he do 2 single color on different circuits and have amber brighter than white? Unless all you guys want bright white too. I'm flexible either way, but not $50 bulbs.

yea get that test set and post pics... I kinda like my orange signal cause it matches to the orange strip on the side of the headlight (since we can't remove it), but I will be up for new bulb if I like the look..

^^ I wouldn't say you can't remove it. Just heat up the housing in an oven and pop that thing out. OR if it can't be taken out, use some spray tint and go over it lightly to give the reflector a smoked look. Way better than orange IMO.

its built in the chrome inside of the headlight..

and these headlights cost way to much for me to be heating them up and opening them like that.. don't ever wanna screw that up you know..

but it can be tinted once opened i guess....

its not worth it to open up the headlights. if not sealed right, you will start having condensation.

All the 5th gen guys do it! I did it to my 5th, and my 350Z. Its not hard and just as risky as installing springs. Everything costs money guys. I'll give it a shot this weekend and see how it turns out.

I have 'stealth' running lights, they are more red than amber...I was suprised but I liked it. If you want white Id just put in white bulbs and call it a day.

You are right about the price of gas. 1/2 tank cost me 25.75 today. I drove into Manhattan today and gas is 2.99 9/10. Are these easy to install? Warren

unless these lights are super bright, they wont look that good. the leds are too small to actually be seen from a distant. Hamy whats the quality like?
