Anyone want Custom 1157 turn signals/parking lights?
Anyone want Custom 1157 turn signals/parking lights?
I've been in contact with a guy I know that has done some custom LED work for me in the past. I'm getting him to make a custom 1157 LED bulb that has a parking light that is "hyper white" but it still blinks a bright amber to keep things legal. It looks kinda like the one pictured below and will cost around $20 for the pair with a life time warrenty.
Here is a picture of the bulb in my old Maxima.

The only catch is that he wants 25 buyers before he puts them into production. Do you guys want a product like this or is it just a waste of time?

This guys site speaks for itself. He sells all kinds of LED stuff and of course he has an application for the tails.

If you look at that picture of the bulb it will work out perfect...white on the sides and amber blinker on the top. For those biatchin about hte price....its $20! Thats not even a tank of gas. The HIDs will look so much better with white running lights rather than amber. Anyhow...I'll get this guy working on a test piece so I can see how its going to work.

I bought leds from them a while back...wasnt as bright as I liked them to be. the tail light/turning bulbs are small to begin with, so the tiny leds wont shine as bright. Hopefully these are new and inprove though
Looks like we are half way there...12 so far!
(Pal & Nismo are you guys in, I couldn't tell from your posts)
That would make 14...
Hamy let's get this going, maybe add a post in GD forum,
others will jump on board...and he'll get his 25 quick!

sure I'm in
Hey with LEDS, since they use less wattage, if you stick them in the socket, they will blink rapidly. Hopefully this guy can throw in the those little convertors needed for them to work correctly.

Update: I talked to the guy today. He says hes working on color changing LEDs. Meaning each LED has two colors. So all would light up white, then they would all light up amber when the turns are on. Problem is hes looking to charge $50 for those bulbs. I think the first idea will work fine. The status right now is I'm trying to have him setup a place on his site for us to preorder so he can start production. With any luck he will get me a test set this week so I can show you how they will work.

^^ I wouldn't say you can't remove it. Just heat up the housing in an oven and pop that thing out. OR if it can't be taken out, use some spray tint and go over it lightly to give the reflector a smoked look. Way better than orange IMO.

All the 5th gen guys do it! I did it to my 5th, and my 350Z. Its not hard and just as risky as installing springs. Everything costs money guys. I'll give it a shot this weekend and see how it turns out.

I have 'stealth' running lights, they are more red than amber...I was suprised but I liked it.
If you want white Id just put in white bulbs and call it a day.
