I checked the resistance on all of my plug wires, while attached to the distributor cap, and I got 8,000 Ohms to 14,000 Ohms.

Is that good? Or should I replace them?

The upper limit is in the 15 - 30 k range. Remember that this is DC resistance, which is not going down the "wire". Never use a solid copper, low resistance plug wire. The spark will not be any stronger and large amounts of EMI will be generated that will effect badly the ECU and radio.

What are the resistance numbers on brand new OEM wires?
