What are those Stainless steel manifolds??!?!
Can anyone tell me what and where i can get those awesome stainless steel manifolds? I remember hearing its from a different engine and has better performace or, i could be wrong. Please let me know where i can get them and how much i should expect to dish out. Thanx!!!
When you extrude hone a manifold, you coat the inside of it with some kind of paint or material or something and its suppose to give better air flow, but it really only makes a difference on FI systems.
If you extrude hone, you smooth things out inside to allow smoother flow. I suppose you could extrude home headers, but I've generally heard it done as part of a port matching on the head.
The coating you are thinking of may be something like Jet-Hot, which is on the outside and helps to keep the heat of the pipe inside the pipe so your engine bay is cooler. If you contact Jet-Hot they may send you their short video that explains their process. You can also send them your old header and they can coat that or have a new header drop shipped to them for coating. I think it would be better than heat wrapping.
