need help...MAP solenoid valve

My CEL came on and I found out the code that popped up was 1302: manifold absolute pressure solenoid valve or circuit fault. Recenlty my car was at a shop getting some things done. I didn't have this car before I brought it there. The mechanic told me to check if there is any vacuum leaks(ex. hoses loose). I found that there was one bolt(near the FPR)on the lower intake manifold that he seem to forgot to tighten. It was so loose that I could turn it with my finger. I retighten the bolt. I also checked all the hoses and bolts that I could get to(some you can't get to unless you remove the IM). All seem to check out. There is one thing though. There are two bolts on the valve cover that concerns me. I can't tighten them. I can keep on turning the bolts, but they wouldn't tighten. Maybe their threads are broken. Maybe the mechanic that worked on my car tighten them too much and broke the threads? I haven't check it, but could there be a vacuum leak any just the two bolts? The two bolts I'm talking about are the top bolts, closest to the IM. First and third one. The other bolts are fine. They tighten up nicely. The mechanic said it couldn't be the MAP solenoid valve because he didn't touch that. Maybe he's wrong, could it maybe be the MAP solenoid valve after all? Is it expensive to replace? Tks.

If your Upper IM gasket was leaking at all, your car would have a really hard time holding an idle..

If you want to check that, have the car running and spray TB cleaner along the Gasket..if your car hickups, then change that seal and have the threads checked on the Lower IM....If the bolts just keep spinning, you may need to replace the Lower IM due to the fact that your threads are messed up on yours

It's not the bolts on the IM that are spinning. It's on the valve cover. The bolts on the IM are fine.

maybe thats the reason why my 00VI (mated to 4th gen lower) is throwing codes, idling like crap and stalling out on me.

I'm going to replace the two bolts on the valve cover and see if that solve the problem. If not, I'm going to have to remove the upper IM and check out the bolts on the lower IM, which I hope I don't have to do.

you could plug the IM where it connects to the PCV and plug the resonator where it connects to valve cover breather. if the problem goes away then its the valve cover bolts.

Btw, the idle is fine. No stalling problem. Even though the CEL is on, the car runs fine. If the CEL didn't come on, I would even know there was a problem. I'm sure something is not right because I cleared the code twice and it comes back on.

An update: I checked the vacuum lines on my car again today. I was going to remove the upper IM to see if all the bolts on the lower IM were secured. I don't know how I missed it, but there was a vacuum line that was not plug in. It's the one near the right side of the IM, near the IACV. Could this be the cause of the CEL? I plugged it back in and resetted the ECU. Hope this will do it. I decided even if this won't do it, I'm not going to remove the upper IM. Since the car is running fine with the exception of the CEL.

If the Vaccum line was feeding something that needs to see vaccum during the ECU check, then yea that probably why you were seeing a CEL

I think that was it. Drove the car for awhile. CEL hasn't come back on. Usually, it would come back on almost immediately when I take the car for a spin.
