Busted Suspension?
Busted Suspension?
Ok, last week I heard a noise from my driver side rear... looked around... saw nothing.. thought I might have hit something in the parking lot.
Today I noticed, the front end of my car has a bigger wheel gap then my back does.. mmmm weird... Then I thought, hey, my sub box I just made is heavy... but then again...not as heavy as the engine.
So, I have tokico Illuminas struts/shocks and eibach springs.
Just got them about 3 months ago.
ANYWAYS, I have came to a conclusion that the drivers rear sqeaks when I bounce that portion of the car.
The drivers rear is 1 " lower to the ground, then the passenger rear (measured from mud flap , I know its not that accurate)
Anyways, do you think the passenger rear could get messed up aswell?
I am raising the car after work tomorrow to get a better look.
whats your guess, spring or shock?
ps my hella pricy tires are wearing funny cause of this... arg
.......my luck is terrible

I think that noise happened when I went over a speed bump... I took it pretty slow tho... I always do.
SIDE NOTE: I paid 1100 Canadian just for the damn parts.. I should be able to fly off a cliff and have them not break...

Look for the obvious. Check even the front end for anything you may have hit. I smacked a parking deck tire stop thingy a month ago, and it messed up some of the plastic parts underneath. It actually pushed one inside the other, so I had a mysterious nasty noise that would mainly appear on right turns and while braking. Everything looked normal, and all the suspension parts looked fine. The stealership had it most of one day and still couldn't figure it out. I figured it out the next weekend myself and got everything in order. Easy fix once I found the problem.
I think the problem is with the old parts that go above the shock.. Like them rings and seals.
i used my old parts when I put the new stuff in. I noticed debris ontop the shock in that compartment there. Makes sense that it would make noise and be a bit lower.... probably uneven.. Hope that fixes it
