'05 Maxima Bose CD Player - Can it read Tracks and Titles?

2005 SE

One of the things that I was looking forward to on the new Maxima was how the CD player was supposed to be able to display the CD title and track information when you play CD's. Now I know that old CD's might not work because of their age but I have noticed that the CD player does not display that information for any of my CD's (new or old). I fiddled around with the settings on the player but nothing seems to work.

Does this feature work for anyone? Am I missing something here?

Thanks.

works, except very very very very few bought cd's are encoded with the info. if you burn your own thru roxio, etc and add the artist and title it will display.

don't blame nissan or your maxima, blame the recording industry. just another indication of how far behind the times they really are. like all the dinosaurs before them, one day they will be extinct.

Works on mine too but mostly for cd's that I burned myself. Very few bought cd's have titles encoded.

Just about any cd "burning" software will allow you to include encode the tags you're looking for. Windows Media Player, Winamp, Roxio will all allow you to burn cd's. You just want to make sure you have the tags updated before you burn 'em to a disk.

Windows Media Player does not support CD-Text

Nero is a good burning program that does support it.

Exactly what I have encountered. I could have sworn it was able to use in the past with prior versions. I never used it though because I just burnt Data CDs for my Alpine MP3 unit.

I use both Musicmatch and Roxio. I've not had any luck getting the titles to show up on the Bose with Musicmatch but they work well with Roxio.

The free version of Real Player works, Real Player If your burning songs from a mixed cd, i.e. not original, that does not have the song info on it already, your going to have to manually enter that info. If your burning from an original cd, most programs will go and download the information and inmport it for you.
