97-99 front bumper on 95 direct replacement bumper?

ok I was going to do this yesterday but when I got to where I was getting the 98 bumper the guy said I will have to change out some bar that goes all the way across the front end and so im wondering if he is right or if the bumper will bolt right on when I take mine off?

I was told there is some kind of support bar/rod you have to get from a 97-99 and replace mine with that one before it will bolt on?

its optional if you want to get that support bar, many people put it without it.

Didnt know there was a way around not gettin ght 97+ support bar. Good to know if I ever get into an accident.

Edit:
anyone have any additional comments on what little adjustments need to be made to make it fit? and grinding shaving etc? or just pushing and bolting?

ok well i just did it and well it didnt work with my foglights in so i removed them and it fit. Yeah those little things that were on that support bar I just took a grinder to. So that took care of that. but its on. Its not a perfect fit but I like the way it looks better than my old one for sure.
