so what's the deal with these headers?

that member fro cardomain said the fitted the 03 max headers on our 6th gen with some modding to the bolt pattern on them...

if so, i will get the cattman headers quick... they gave the 5th gens atleast 20hp...

chime in CHRIS, or WARREN, MAXDIZZLE..

Which member of car domain? Im sure it can be done but you will need to modify something. Definately would be worth trying if you have the cash and time.

Yo 'Niq, that guy has the tightest set-up. He told me that he just had to drill some new holes. If you have seen the NEW CLIPS on page 3,4, 5, etc... this cats ride is slick OFF THE HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK!!! He got a 13.1 smokin' that other ride. Those are '05 Vette numbers. Those new clips gave me a REAL RUSH! The guy seems really cool and is willing to help. He obviously knows what he's doing. Those new clips are unreal and really shows you that the Max is a serious contender and is able to withstand longterm nitrous use. I called Stillen today regarding the headers and John, the guy I deal with, told me that it could be possible to get it done. So it could be worth a try. Regardless, his times show us that the 6th Gen can achieve! Even without the headers which may be a serious risk if not done correctly with leakage, etc... there's only a few more mods with the nitrous needed to achieve sweet, sweet performance. IF ANYONE HASN'T SEEN THE CLIPS, GO CHECK THEM OUT!! It's sick in my opinion. He also told me that he got the Protech chip for the auto transmission. This has got me really psyched! He's on Cardomain, it's AZNTUNERS.COM as the name and the website.

Yeah, he does have an unbelievable set-up! It may be possible to mount those Cattman headers. It's obviously possible to mount other aftermarket headers on there. I'm just not sure of the risks of doing that? Regarding his set-up, I'm not even sure if he has used the double shot yet. He might be just getting that done now. I think initially when he had his site up he mentioned those numbers and they were without it. I don't want to quote any specifics because I just can't say. But I talked to some guys that do some killer work with nitrous and they were talking about a nice 50 to 75 shot set-up with one of those purge kits. Have you seen that stuff? ANyway, the headers might be worth a shot! If you can get 20hp out of them then it would be worth it. You know that someone has to be developing some headers specifically for the 6th Gen. It sucks that it takes so long. Anway, maybe someone with some mechanic experience can discuss the pros and cons of attempting to install other headers that weren't specifically made for the ride are. PEACE

winter is coming up fast here, so my mods will prob take place after the snow season... I'll save up my pennies and give those cattman headers a try(if no others come out for us).. I will look for a experienced mech or a racing shop first though...

the spray will be ordered over the winter also.. and yes I've seen that purge kit in action.. its pretty cool.

You wouldn't need to do anything to the bolt pattern. It would only be clearance issues or alignment issues which I am willing to solve if I can ever get someone to bring me a car.

Yo, I hear ya' 'Niq! Winter is coming soon and it would be nice to hold off. My wifey isn't gonna be happy if I take it to the next level. I just don't know if I can wait. I was thinking about screens, but to have a chrome bottle mounted tight in the trunk with the "secret potion", no constest. Honestly, I had dreams all night about those 1/4 miles runs he has on his site now. It was literally all I could think about. Maybe it's just me but that gives me a little buzz, ya' hurd! To be able to smoke someone on a track with a 4 door luxury car is just unbelievable to me. Hey, I found some headers on line which claim to be Maxima '02+. They're Hot Shott headers and can be found on 2kracing.com, but I dont' know anything about them. If the stillen works then maybe these would too. I'm going to call them this morning and see if they are compatible. Also, when I thought the guy had DC headers I looked them up and they aren't really that expensive compared to the other headers. I don't think azntuners has a Y-pipe either, so there's a little extra boost that could make up for the lack of the availability of the headers. Anyway, peace out, I'm gonna go watch page 3 on his site again!!! HA, ha! PEACE...........

The shop is closed this Saturday and the following two weekends I'll be in San Diego. So 'in a few weeks' will work out perfectly.

Yo Maxmale, what brand of header are you gonna go with? I guess since T from Azntuners made the Stillen work it may be the best bet. Let us know what you decide. Obviously, it is working for him!! I can't believe no one else is commenting on how sweet those clips are.......I was really surprised by them. His run without the nitrous was even sweet too when he literally SMOKED that Honda Prelude! Anyway, good luck with the headers and make sure to keep us updated......PEACE.........

he doesn't need a y-pipe Dizzle, headers come with a y-pipe built in.... so its the exaust manifold and y-pipe together...

it looks like there is some interest in the subject though, maybe someone will actually help us out..

How long do you need the car? Is it just for a few hours to get measurements. If so I can stop on my way back to NY in a couple of weeks. Warren

I only need the car on the lift for five minutes to know what needs to be done. But keep in mind that your trek up I95 is still about 3 hours away from the shop and I can't be there during the week before 5:45pm.

You would have to break off I95 to I26 then hit I77 in Columbia.

Warren that's cool that you are going to see if the headers might work! I'm sure they probably will with the right modifications. Although, I wonder what the risks are if there is not a sufficient seal. I'm gonna go ahead and get the CE Y-pipe because you said there's a noticeable gain and I looked at the website and those dyno results were very impressive. If you go with some headers, I wonder which brand would be the best? You know, that guy on Azntuners, I think only has the headers and nitrous beyond you. He also has a Power Tech chip for the Max and I've got a call into them about it. I'm not sure if it is the kind of chip you get gains from or if it is strickly needed for the nitrous set-up. My point being, the headers may not even be worth the risk when you could go ahead with the safest nitrous kit. Good luck if you decide to try the headers and definitely keep me posted! PEACE OUT.........

Headers will definately be worth it. Should put our maximas into the 240whp range and possibly higher with tuning. Ive heard things like we have the 4.0 pathfinder heads and im wondering if this is true and if so, is it going to yield us higher numbers once we have headers and good tuning?

Cattman headers are the best and Hotshot are second best. Nothing else is worth the trouble.

Because I probaby have more header install and dyno experience than anyone else on this forum, and from my personal experience this is what I have established. I am not just taking a wild guess if that's what you're wondering. There is nothing at all special about the A34 vs. the A33B. The engines, minus a few revisions, are essentually identical. Most of the dirty little power making secrets of the A33B will have the same effect on the A34. With the few differences being the engine management and the stock intake design.

I am just trying to explain that you guys don't have to start from square one. The majority of the problems that you're trying to solve have already been solved, starting four years ago when the A33B or 5.5 gen came out on the market, and some al the way back to the A32. You guys can just as easily look what we're doing to answer many of your questions.

Thats what I have been doing for a while. The reason for my corrections of so many missinforming post in this forum is only because it has been discussed before and ive read all the material.

Yes, I was the one who first tested the VQ30 Cattman headers on the VQ35. And from all of my install experiences I have to say that they're the best.

Im willing to purchase the 3.0 or 3.5 headers, preferably Cattman, if you can provide us with information on what we might have to change or modify for the headers to fit. Im sure this is still in process since you are waiting on someone to make the drive to your area. Keep us posted....
