you will win

Assuming you are a capable 5-speed driver, and the mods to each car arent too crazy, you will definately win... 5-speed vs. 5-speed would be a close close call, but VS his auto you will beat him without too much trouble.

Two words
SMOKED SHO

My girlfriends dad has 3 of them, two autos and one 5speed that will rip the doors off of most anything, I will smoke the autos, but that 5speed has a full exhaust and it will fly!! He says that it will keep up with his 2000 Ford SVT Lightning, and I have driven both and agree with him on it

used to drive one

I used to drive an auto SHO (93). It would get up and go, I had a mutated one, it was actually pretty fast. It had a killer 2nd gear. It lasted to 90 MPH! But the car was a piece and I went thru about 4 trannys. If youre a good driver then you'll beat him. Just make sure you get him off the line and you'll have no problem. It was a pretty fast car, really quick once you got going. But my car now would eat it up.

Since you are a 5 speed you'll win if you launch well. The autos are like auto Maxs and don't use the engines power as efficiently as they otherwise could. Now a 5 speed SHO is quick and it would depend on the driver to driver experience.
