Maxima TOTALLED!! part 2......PICS!!!

Ok, here they are....the pics. I know they will be tough to look at but trust me, I get sick to my stomach looking at them as well.

Some things to notice:

1) This is the result of a head-on collision the equivalent force of hitting a brick wall at ~80mph!!

2) The airbags, they WORK! And in this car, they are all over the place! They definetly kept my head from hitting the car multiple times.

3) The shot of the passenger compartments are 100% intact. With the force of the impact pretty much crushing everything else in front of me, its great to know that my legs were unharmed (except for minor bruises).

Lastly, I hope that your precious maximas never look like mine. You can be the best driver, drive as defensively as you want.....but you never know when someone will do something stupid right in front of you.

Drive hard, drive safe, always know that it can happen at any time.

I am slowly recovering, I think the insurance company is slowly getting the ball rolling.

As far as the maxima goes, forget it. I'm done. No more of this car for me. I will most likely be getting something else..........

YEAH FCKING RIGHT!!!! I'm getting the EXACT SAME FCKING CAR!!!!! And I am gonna love it that much more! I can't wait til the baby comes home again!!

Oh yea, the pics.......here ya go!

WOW, those are hard to look at, it's amazing that you're ok.
After seeing the pics it's easier to understand how though!!!
I just feel safer on the road knowing my Max can protect me and my family.
(because there are a lot of idiots out there, anything can happen)

Hope everything works out...

Dang, I'm glad you're okay. It's nice to know that these cars are so safe. What color are you going for on the new one?

Thank goodness u r ok, that Max looks bad, yet at the same time looks good... the air bags did their job, the body did not cave in on the sides, this is a well built car with obviously remarkable safety features. Once again, glad u r doin ok now and can't wait to hear when u get another one!!!

Gee, that is some impact , excellant safety result , hard way to find out but...

Glad you are ok ..

You got new car replacement under your insurance policy.. it's helpful that way you don't have to fork out for Road taxes and stamp duties and such... ?

If you do make sure that you don't get duded into an 05 make them give ya an 06 seeing as you were not at fault in the accident.

It sounds like insurance works a little different there than it does here. I have never heard of them just swapping a person into a new car. Usually, the car just gets paid off and the owner gets anything left over.

That's a bummer , over here every policy replaces your brand new car with another brand new one for between 1-4 years depending on which company you are with... ( the stipulation being that you are the first registered owner of the vehicle.)

I thought you guys should have the same thing over there ...???

OUCH! Where did your rims go? I thought u had blue painted twenties, I only ask because it looks like it would have been hard to take them off and get the OEM ones on after the crash.

Now maybe you can get an SE...was that a 4 speed SL? That was the major reason I got an SE when I bought it in '03...so if that was an early build you cAN get the better transmission too. Good luck.

Wow dude, glad your OK, those pictures are chilly, however it's good to see all the airbags that helped save you from serious injury. Good luck and hope to see you riding again soon...

Man, God is keeping you here for a reason. Glad your okay. Seems like we all have a strong car. I am sure the impact does not equal going 80mph into a wall... if that had been the force of 80mph then it would be a lot worse that that. Looks like a 45 to 55 mph impact. But anywayz, glad everyone is okay in this.

That's an unreal impact! You are very lucky to walk away from that! The Max airbags obviously work for their intended purpose. Sorry it happened to you. Hopefully, you'll get yourself a new Max in no time. Again, great to see you are okay.....Take care and watch out for idiots on the road, they're everywhere........PEACE.......

Holy crumple zones batman! I'm happy to hear your ok. I drive hard too and it's always in the back of my mind that I've never see a Max blasted and how would it hold up in a accident. thanks for clearing that up for me. As for your next car. Good decision. I'm on my second one.

Thanks for the good wishes, makes me feel better.....on the inside. Unfortunately the physical pain is still there!!!

Good wishes dont work for pain. However, some monetary donations....thats a different story!!

Just kidding.

I plan on getting the same 05 Majestic Blue SL, it came with everything I wanted.

Question: Do you guys know roughly how long it takes for the insurance to pay for the car?? All paperwork as been sumbitted, I've just been waiting now.

Also, when they make me an offer for my car, is the amount negotiable? I dont want to get ripped off, and with all the goodies I put in (stereo, intake, grill, etc etc) the car was worth way more than kelley blue book value.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
