suspension suggestions

any suggestions as to what combo would be closest to stock? my 98 is my wife's daily driver, so i dont want it to be too harsh of a ride, but i am also repainting it and putting wheels on it, so itll look stupid at stock height. any suggestions?
tein's? eibach's?h&r? coilovers?

anyone use these with the stock struts? or should i go with tokoko blues right away?

thanks in advance, juan

i have KYB GR2's on maxspeed, i believe its about the closest you can get to stock comfort wise... still good handling tho. the drop is very mild, about 1.5 in front, 1.4 in rear... pretty cheap setup too

im sorry.. but you are a moron...

the softest dropped springs you can buy are H&r's.. it is a progressive spring, and is only 30% stiffer than stock compared to the 50% that MOST not all, but MOST other springs are.

the softest strut you can buy (that wont blow), are toykico illumina's. yes they are more expensive, but they are 5 way adjustable, have a wide range on terms of the difference of the settings, and WILL NOT BLOW on the softest setting.. the only other strut you can compare them too are the kyb AGX'S, but they are very well known to become much stiffer in cold weather. KYB gr2's are, BY FAR, the stiffest strut you can buy.. this is also why they are so cheap..

i cannot stress enough to go with the illumina's no matter what spring you choose especially if your plan on puttin bigger rims on..

the toykico blues are a "factory replament" strut, and will blow when used on dropped springs

thanks for the info but you could've not been as arrogant. he obviously stated his opinion. that's what he has and he feels that they ride close to stock. btw, i have several friends with 3rd gens with blues and eibach's or h and r's and their struts havent blown out. ill take your advice though and go with illumina's as they could be designed differently for the 4th gen

I would go with any of the following:

Springs:
H&R
Tein H-Tech
Tokico

Struts/Shocks:
Illuminas
AGX

Have you ever used Tokico blues before? Any personal experience? Or are you just regurgitating what you've read? I run on blues and tokico springs. I blew out the driver side strut, but only because of the day in , day out abuse I give it. And that was after 20k miles of it. Give me a set of illuminas, I'll kill those b!tches too. There is no such thing as a bullet proof suspension part. You're one of those followers, trying to act smart when a person goes against the general consensus. I haven't seen enough reports of blown blues to agree to that theory. You're just like 80% of the knuckle heads here. Runs with the crowd, quick to flame, and believes what people say based on their post count.

does anyone have any experience w/ progress springs? i'm stuck deciding between those, tokico, and h&r. i like the drop of progress, but i don't want the ride to be super harsh or have poor performance.

I have the blues and they are fine but with stock springs. Tokico sells blues with lowering springs as a set. As for those that say blues with lowering springs will blow them, that may be true with non-tokicos springs, I doubt that tokico would sell their shocks/struts with springs that would cause a failure.

I would think that with H&R's and Illuminas set @ 1, it would be tough to blow them. Of course driving would not be much fun

This is how flareups begin on this board, just answer the question and leave your comments to yourself, especially if its gonna offend another person, and we wont have so many arguments here.

By the way, I have Illuminas and springs and love them.
