brakes now cv axle

brakes now cv axle

well i went to go check the brakes, and yes i need new brakes, they have duralast for 25 dollars with life time warrenty....should i get them (semi-metalic)..and wat is the differnce between semi and metalic? .......now as for the cv joint is busted so the pepboy guy said to get the whole axle....how long can i drive with it like that? and how fast?.,......i am on a serious budget....

Semi matalic pads have more organic materials in them, which could increase the chance of pad material being transfered to the rotor under certain conditions. That causes brake vibrations. A matalic pad will resist that a bit more and withstand more heat, last longer and should keep your rotors clean and smooth.

The CV will eventually fail, when it starts to make noise when you turn your steering wheel, then it's time to replace it ASAP. Save your money..
