Factory service manuals

I'm looking for a manual for my '84 wagon. Would a '83 manual be ok, as their identical, I believe? Earl

Hi E-carp. Yes it would. There were only slight differences (ie speedometer reading to 125, different left side outseide mirror, etc) from the 83 Maximas. But, the engine, transmission, suspension, etc are the same. I actually have both Manuals (83 and 84)

There is one other differance: ECU/EFI WIRING. You will note that the ECU for the 84 will say "This ECU is for 1984 vehicles only, blah, blah, blah". I have not pluged in an older ECU into an 84 car, or the 84 ECU into a older car. I guess you would have to compair the wiring diagrams for the 81-83 and the 84 cars to see if there is some type of pin-out difference. I pluged in an ECU for the 79-82 280ZX and it worked in a 83 910 Maxima (83 ZX had a different ECU like the 84 910). I would think that the ECU for the 79+ 810 would work in later cars, but I don't know about the pre-79 810's.
