upgraded clutch w/ 3.5 swap
Do I really need an upgraded clutch with the 3.5 swap? I don't do any street or track racing. Should I go with a stage 1 or stage 2 clutch?
Just curious if you're not going to track or, why are you getting a 3.5L?
The stage I can handle that, but a stage II or III are better suited for the launch providing less slippage, and firmer engagement, and also longer life.

Seems like a waste of money if you don't track race it....

He wants the 3.5 because he wants more HP and TQ. It shouldn't matter to you all exactly how he plans on using that new-found power. He didn't ask whether or not the .ORG thought he should do a 3.5 swap or not. He woulda had a poll up for that. He asked which clutch to use. Simple.

True but by the same token, so is the motor and that doesn't stop anybody. Has no one tried this yet?
FWIW I'm using a 3.5L clutch on a 3.0 flywheel and motor. My clutch is from a 350Z but appeared identical to the 3.5L Max clutch. I had to enlarge the pressure plate mounting holes slightly but other than that it bolted up just fine.
I'm using a RWD 350Z tranny (240sx project).
Please note: I haven't driven this setup yet, just installed it.

Ya now i just need to get used to it lol. If you want a clutch with light pedal feel, even lighter than stock, this clutch is for you. Make no mistake tho, when this 6 puck grabs, it GRABS. I love it.

I've had a six puck clutch in my Max and it only lasted one full year. It was, however, the greatest thing I did to my car...it felt like a race car after the clutch...but, because the clutch grabbed so fierce it melted to my flywheel and I couldn't shift or anything. But damn that year was fun!

Linkage23 did you race a lot that year to melt the clutch to the flywheel?
