Need Help Fellas: Car Idling High

Guys,

Just started yesterday but have noticed that the car is idling unusually high when coming to a stop. The car is a 5 speed. After coming to a stop, if waiting on a light to change or parking the car, the car idles around 1500 rpms. After I step on the clutch and give it a little gas, the rpms go down to normal. What could this be guys? It's bugging the hell out of me.

Sounds like a sticking TB butterfly valve or IACV to me. Clean out the TB and IACV and that should take care of it....

Naw, haven't done anything like that. Unless it was done unintentionally and I wouldn't know how to do that.

Anyone got a link that shows how to properly clean an IACV? I'm a newbie here with a newly purchased '97 Max. Great car---gotta love the feel of the 3.0 YEEHAWWW!!!! Sure beats my old Toy Corolla!
