Is it ok to install front and rear strut bars on stock suspension?

 

Yes, but the handling improvements will be marginal at best.

 

As long as its better than stock and I can feel a difference. I'm getting these strut bars now since I can afford it now. I still can't afford a drop yet. Maybe next year. i was just wondering if I could improve my stock handling by adding front and rear stut bars. I have an SE so the suspension is already a little stiffer than the others.

 

Alternatively, look into a rear anti-sway bar (RSB) instead of the rear strut tower bar. Coupled with the FSTB, you'll notice some pretty significant improvement with the RSB, esp on stock suspension. Plus you won't have to cut your lining like you have to do with the RSTB.

Btw, the SE suspension didn't feel stiff at all to me... got rid of mine.

 

I'll look into a RSB but it is a little expensive. Right now I already purchase the Otto Racing front strut bar.

 

Where are you looking? The Progress bar that Cattman sells is $150 and you can get a Stillen copy on eBay for around $110 usually. I got mine used in the 5th Gen Classifieds for $100. Trust me, its worth it.

 

With the FSTB you'll notice a little improvement, but when you add in a RSB.... that's when you really feel it. The stock handleing on our cars sucks, if you can afford the extra money get both, you won't be disappointed. My .02

I have the progress and have been very happy with it. It is a solid piece of steel (not a bent tube) and is very easy to install.

Yes, direct bolt on... it should come with instructions and even if it doesn't, its very straightforward.

I put a front strut tower brace and the Stillen rear sway bar on our 2000 max.
It made a world of difference! The Stillen rear sway bar is a direct bolt on and really makes her handle the turns great. Highly recommend it.

i have the progress one. had it on my unlowered 00 and now my lowered 02 and could feel a HUGE diffirence on both

 

Where could I find a good deal on either the Progress RSB or the Cattman RSB for my 2k MAX? All I could find was a Progress RSB for $170 Shipped on ebay.

 

Did you even bother to look anywhere other than ebay? Cattman sells theirs for $140 direct from their site.

If you want cheaper than that, shop around the for sale forums.
