well... just like the title says. a friend of mine works in an auto store and can get the bulbs for less than $30. so if i can do that and get better low beams im game.. but will it work? will it melt the plastic cover?
Lol. Xenons wont do $hit. I bet your talking about the xenon gas filled halogens which probably wont do nothing since theyre $30 ones. You already have working lows/highs. Unless youre talking about HID kits which are usually lows only and cost $230+. Bixenons which cost much more will have both highs and lows.
hm... those "xenon look a like" or the " HID look a like bulbs" are like 100W halogens really. our stock bulbs are like 55w. doing a little common sense and logic here it would kinda burn up something for a long time. but then again i known some ppl who did that to other cars like civics and saturns. they didn't burn anything up.

I can't believe they market these with no warning, I saw a set of 100w at Best Buy the other day. If you get the xenon look alikes make sure they are 55w.Hid planet also has a halogen forum you can probably get some good suggestions there. The xenon look alikes do have a percentage of xenon gas in them (around 10-20%) that is why they put out better light, not necessarily being a higher wattage.

i never knew those bulbs actually had xenon in them. wow thats something new. I just thought because the up-ed the wattage thats the reason for more light. the cheapest way to get more light is to go with the 9007 mod with a harness that can accept 100w bulbs.
but then again i dont know anyone who has it and uses it. But its out there on the market. i've seen them. and considering doing them at the moment.

Just do the 9007 bulb conversion mod and get an upgraded wire harness that gets power directly from battery and use regular 55 watts bulbs; you will see the difference; I did it and is very close to having HID lights (my wifes car has hid projectors).
Stay away from useless and overpriced white/blue bulbs (Piaa, Silverstars, etc..) which last no more than a year and only look brighter by looking at headlights but hardly put any light on the road, believe me I used them all.
Overwattage bulbs will burn your wire harness and with time will make your headlights brownish.
