Got a carbon fiber hood today and weight of it.

Well it was such a good deal i couldn't pass it up.I traded my white hood plus some cah for it. It's a redlinemax hood and needs to be buffed since its dull. It's only about a year old. I had thought the weight for the redlinemax hood was 28lbs but mine weighs only 21lbs. Whats the stock hood weigh?
I didn't have a chance to weigh it.
I'm not sure which max this is going on yet.My green hood is a little bent up so i may use the cf hood for that and put the green hood on my white car which is going to be my drag car.

Im not sure if buffing is going to help that hood. You may need to sand it and maybe even have to reshoot the clear.
My hood is a redline also, but Ive always kept up with it so it still has a nice finish.

You can wetsand the clear coat on the CF items, Id go with a very fine grit and then try and buff it up.
I wouldnt sand too much though, Im sure the clearcoat that is applied is rather thin.

I'm going to talk to a buddy that owns a detail shop and see what he can do with it.If it needs a new layer of clear at least it won't cost very much. With the cost of a new clear coat i will still have got a good deal so i'm not worried.
