extra Pre-cat on cali spec cause prob?

I know when my high flow cat fell apart it caused my car hesitation problems. I am experiencing worse hesitation/ jerking/ bucking than ever before. Could my cali spec pre cat have clogged/broken up and cause some issue? I just now thought of this. I feel alot of power loss as well and get some in cabin exhaust smell on occassion.

Also upon cold starts I have noticed under the max right by the gas tank I can hear this noise like a straining sound. It kinda sounds like mice ( best way to describe). Could this mean my stock fuel pump is going bad. Gonna get it on the lift today I hope so any feed back would be great.

Thanks!

If the pre cats are bad you should get a CEL with the associated error code. The Cali spec ECU monitors those cats very closely via O2 sensors.

I am getting no cel. Im just searching for the answer here. Fed spec conversion? Where is the pre cat at anyway? Would it be in the headers? front and back or just one. Kinda confused on this one. I don't have any codes and car bucks like a champ in 1st and while cruising and is sluggish too. Getting her on the lift in about a half hour!

The pre-cat left after adding the y-pipe is right behind the radiator... The pre-cat is that huge thing which is part of the front exhaust manifold...
