Might be leaving the 4th gen Family...

Well after so many mods Ive decided I need more power. I was saving for
a Stillen S.C. but I here they discontinued them. So I decided Im selling my
max. Im shooting for a 2k2-2k4 Altima 3.5 SE 5speed. If the max sells Im
getting a black one fully loaded and dropping it w/ stillen lip kit and my Volks,
and then the GReddy sp2 catback. IF it dont sale I'll be okay with that. I
love my max and the org alot. Either way Ill still be an org member. Just
thought Id let my fellow 4th geners know. Peece out

P.S. Nissan's OWN...

The Altima SE-R is the only car I would upgrade to, those look good hooked up. If you are basing your decision on the supercharger alone, PM Matty (or check the boosted forum), he's got the mounting plate made up for it for sale to org members, then just get the SC from Vortech and the miscellaneous parts. Anyways if you decide not to still SC good luck, they got more stuff for the Alti anywayz.

G35 is a much better sedan. I know looks are subjective but I would seriously test drive one. No way I would get an new Altima or Maxima knowing for a little more, the G35 could be had--or a used one if need be.

Thanks guyz for the advice. If it sells Ill defintly miss it. I thought of
doing the vq35 swap but Im waiting to see more maximas with it to
see it get perfected. Im not trying to have problems, thats why I prefer
direct bolt ons. Im not even sure if its gonna sell so its all good, I might
still be part of the fam after all. If nothing gives by October Im keeping my
max and the tuning shall continue. Thanks again everyone.

I havent heard of those running th vq35 having major problems, a few thing here and there but for the most part all works good. Just as long as the install is good and clean with no corners cut.

I wouldnt say I am having problems. I have no EGR system which I knew I wouldnt going in. Stephen Max is working on a fix for this though. Other than that, the engine runs like a top. Also you wont have to worry about Stephen cutting any corners or giving you a car with problems. I know from experience if your whip isnt running right he wont give it back. I trust Stephen more than any dealership or independant mechanic to work on my car.

Naw Im not saying Im scared of problems cause of your car.. As a matter of fact if I knew for a fact that my swap would come out as good as yours its
something I would consider. Im very impressed by stephen max's work on
your max. Im judgung by all the other things Ive read on the org. Also keep
thinking bout if the ECU needs to be swapped or if a 4th gen 5spd tranny is
good enough to handel a VQ35. Thats the kind of stuff Im worried about. Oh
and above all that price on labor and parts. I dunno I keep looking at my car
and all my freinds and orgers keep telling me to keep the max, and now Im
starting to want my car. I do love my max. Im gonna wait and see what offers
are made and if nothing good comes with in a months time, The max is here to
stay.

The only reason to swap the ECU would be to gain better timing, vtc (i think i got that right), and a functional EGR system. 1 and 3 can be fixed and there is much debate on the actual gains of 2. The 4th gen tranny would do fine with an upgraded clutch. Stephen is already doing another install for a VQ35 so we can all wait to see if it turns out to be as clean and functional as mine. My money says it will be, if not better than mine. It costs less to go with a VQ35 than it does to go SC unless you get a really good deal on a used one.

just get a supercharger when you get the vq35, the engine will already be out, plus it will save you on labor. that's what i plan to do, vq35, turbo, and 5 spd. it's going to hit the pocket hard but the money i will save on labor will help out a lot. plus i think it will come out better in the end considering everything is being done at once, and all problems can be fixed at once and it can be all tuned as one.
