Is the idle low (i.e. less than 550-600) when your feel the vibration?
Is the AC on or off?

Vibration is not a sound its a feeling... are you getting a sound or a feeling?

Some questions so others can help you out...

Are you talking about at a complete stop sitting at a light?

Are you talking about slowing down using the brakes?

To me, it sounds like the ABS pump is activating, since he's getting a vibration and sound. Otherwise his pads might be scored.

Auto or 5-spd?
If Auto, does the vibration go away when you shift into Neutral?

My max does the same exact thing! It tends to be worse right when I start the car up in the morning, especially if it's a little cold. And the sound it makes is almost like a low whining noise, but the vibration in the brake pedal vibrates with the noise (and you have to be at a complete stop). I told myself it was just engine noise so I wouldn't end up screwing with it since my dad hates it when I work on the max and have a million car parts sitting in the driveway. I would love to find out what it's being caused by but unless the car starts running like sh*t I'm not going to really worry about it. My max runs and drives better than most new cars
