20" Wheels

What's up guys. I was thinking about putting some Falken 20" racing wheels on my 99 Maxima. Alot of guys here say dubs wont fit, but i see guy online and around town with 20" on their Maxima Damn that **** looks sweet. I want to get some of you guys opinion that Have or had 20" wheels on their car. Will the tires scrub? If so what size tires wheel i need for them not to scrub. Will it damage my suspension?

Another way to go might just be to put cinder blocks in your trunk. Sure, they won't look as good but the ride and your acceleration will be about the same.

I got 20's...

I just put 20's on my max a couple weeks ago for my b-day. Check them out on my homepage.....Click Here They fit perfect with plenty of room even with my 1.5" drop. And there not chrome. Who said they don't make 20's that look good on our cars....I think theres alot of people on the org. who believe that. You just gotta look around and don't be afraid to try something new. (my 2cents) Oh....and the ride is not "f-d up", and the "acceleration is technically a little slower, but not noticeable. I can still smash on unsuspecting ricers and your occasional Ford or Chevy.....just gotta have the upgrades! THats' what its all about...(another 2 cents)

i think they're fine too, but in no way should they be related with racing. if you wanted to race, you should be going the 16-17" route.

I agree on the "racing" issue. Everyone knows you should'nt be trying to road race and hit corners at 100mph with larger wheels...when the time comes you can always just put your stock wheels on with upgraded tires. But, in a straight line as long as you have the power to back it up, it shouldn't matter. Most of us on here are 98% cruisers and just wanna show off..even the "racers"!

hey man just play it straight- there's a lot of 20 inch haters on the org. im not one of them. i say the more chrome and the bigger the better. a nice tuck with a fat lip is where its at. and i actually like to 20" tuner rims. kind of a hybrid. its a real different look. and the ppl worried about the weight you loose- then buy a lighter car that is built to be a screamer. my max is leather and wood and im hella throwin dubs or at least 19s on it.

i dont know a lot about the fitment- i know that if you go too low there will be significant rub, but that could be any rims. i've seen a nice 4th gen- check out maxima girl on car domain. hers is sittin on dubs and its got coilover susp. its low and rubs very little. it looks mad hot tho. just do its your car anyway.

sorry for the rant, but i just had to

I used to have 20's on my '97, and they didn't rub at all. they lifted the body about 3 inches tho, therefore I lowered the ride with coil overs to drop it down 4 inches. An inch lower than stock, and they still didn't rub. I took them off because they slowed my car down and warped my brakes.
