Camber Adjustment Slot Struts...?????

Im pretty sure my camber is way out of spec. I have about 1.5-2'' drop all around and i think it has screwed my alignment. It was done before i got the car. My front tires are scrubbing thier inside bad. They are almost bald whereas my rears are almost new looking. So, i was going to take out my struts and slot either the top or bottom hole so i can adjust the camber but i cant figure out how much to do so. Any ideas? Top or Bottom? I work in a machine shop so milling them is no big deal but i don't want to slot them too much. Lemme know.

IF you havent done so and I dont see why not, have you gotten an alignment after you did the suspension? If yes, and it still doesnt do the job, why dont you just get camber bolts?

FWIW, Camber doesnt wear the tires its usually the toe in or out of your tires that does it.

Well the camber bolts would probably work but im a broke engineering student. I can chuck them up in a mill for free. I still have to pay the sales tax on my car. I have 13 days left on my temps. And camber does wear your tires...on one side. Whereas toe will wear across the whole tread usually, assuming you camber is in check.

Check your toe. I bet that's the problem. After I lowered my max, camber was fine all around but toe up front was off up front.

correct, camber DOES wear tires, toe will wear tires on the inner or outer edge, but it will feather the tread. camber wont wear the tires as fast as a comprable toe misadjustment.

Having owned a Maxima that was slammed with no camber plates, I can tell you that camber will be in spec even with a 2.5" drop in the front and 2" in the rear. When I lowered my Maxima another .5" my TOE increased from -.02 deg to -.14 deg. When I lowered another .5" the same thing happened. I have adjustable camber plates on my Maxima, and my caster is in spec. I run -1.25 deg of camber front and I have ZERO camber wear issues. My rear is at -1.10 deg of camber and it hasn't ever worn my tires out on the edges.

Do your aligment, get the toe fixed. Talk to me bout camber problems when you are 3.5" slammed like my Maxima, I don't have any aligment issues, I run JIC Magic FLTA2s and do my own aligments.

can you rotate the plates to throw in some caster, or have a caster axis adjustment?
