interior of new max?

a little off topic but....

I went by a nissan dealer and check out the new Maxima. I wasnt really fond of the way the 05's exterior, but then I saw the interior.

Hideous. Im not about bashing anyone elses car but the 01's interior is a TON better looking than the 05's.

Just MHO.

the newer maxs seem to have that minimalstic, industrial look to them. everything is plain and simple and straightforward. our interiors are curvy and "flow" more. i guess to each his own. i dont like anything about the new max except the motor and the sport shift, so i am perfectly content with my 5.5 gen.

I agree

My Dad bought a '05 maxima and the interior is too plain. The tunnel gauges are not appealing to me at all.

^^^you are correct, but the interior on it does suck since they made 04+ models in US. The japanese has a better quality interior.

It's not really definite. And the number can be as high as 20HP, the VQ35 in the 5th gen was overrated and has the same engine found in the Murano (245HP/245TQ). New SAE standards brought down the torque for the Murano, as well -- so now it's debatable that the actual power of the 5.5 Maximas is actually 245HP/245TQ.

that sounds about right. usually on v6 engines the tq is higher than hp. i was surprised myself to see a 255/245. before i bought the car i thought it was 245 hp and 255 tq. i know in my 99 3.0l v6 camry its 203 tq, and 196 hp.

I don't like the new max's at all, I'm getting rid of my maxima and drove a new one, espically for what they are charging now. it's insaine in my opinion. after 2003, the maxima is dead to me....
