96 Blower motor replacement
96 Blower motor replacement
So my blower motor went out. Was an intermittent problem where it wouldn't start up, then magically start running while driving. If I banged the housing it would start going and I could hear a tick in the motor and was very slow, now it's dead.
Got a replacement from AutoZone, Siemens PM2709X p/n. Has anyone else replaced with one of these? All other parts stores have the same part number for replacement. I brought it home and went to change it out yesterday. It fits the blower housing, but the fitting for the little recirc hose is not the right size (too small), and it's just got bare wire leads, no connector.
I could probably make it work, a duct tape and wire nut operation, but I don't want to be doing that. I'd have a 50/50 chance of getting the +/- leads right on the fan and it would mean cutting the connector off.
Has anyone else found a better replacement than from the dealer? They want $200 for a blower motor. L'il help?
