Hi Guys,

I was doing some work in my car tonight and had to move the passenger side seat all the way back. When I was done and tried moving it forward it stopped responding. The recline still works. I searched the forums and found a few posts about this but the only fix I saw was to replace the motor. Does the seat have one or two motors? What other fixes could I try before having to order a new motor? Thanks

check the fuse see if it's burnt out...same thing happened to my accord and i found out the fuse was burnt.

 

Well, not sure if this is a permanent fix but I tapped the slide motor with the handle of a screwdriver and the seat started working again.

 

yup, i have seen the same happen on my 99 camry driver power seat. sometimes i would have to hit the base kinda hard, or shake the seat violently to get it to work. only happens soemetimes. it almost leads me to beleive there either a contact or ground not touching the motor somewhere, or the switch is gonig bad.

 

somtimes all it needs is some good old beating on.
