Where to buy Knock Sensor.

I found out recently that I had the dreaded code for the KS failure and when I had autozone quote me a price, they had it listed at $160!!! I was expecting more in the range of $40 or so, especially for a part that fails so much. So where is the cheapest place I can order a KS???

Anyone trust that $68 one from ebay?
I have to worry a little about that one... but if someone has gotten one and it worked then I will go for it.

They look trustworthy....I dont see too much to worry about personally..
I just got my knock sensor off ebay for $77 with shipping (free BTW) and insurance - never opened (Nissan seal still on the box) and the guy shipped it real fast...billcurtis3 is his name and he seems to know his Nissans pretty well.

Will a dead knock sensor always trigger an error code? I have checked the PCM and I get code 0505, which means there are no error codes stored. Can I be sure then that my KS is functionning properly, or is it possible for the knock sensor to fail without triggering a code? I only bought the car a year ago, so I have no way of knowing how old the current KS is...it may even be the original one for all I know.

KS gives the 0304 code and DOES NOT turn on the check engine light by itself (it's a ghost code)

If you get the KS code along with something else, then the CEL should come on so fix the other stuff first since the KS is set off by other things

Reset the ECU and check it a week or two later. If you still get a 0505 code then you don't need the KS - if you get other codes, fix whatever's necessary

I got that $68 one off ebay today. We'll see if it works. I think it will pay for itself in gas in the first month if it does. I used to get 25-26 mpg in mixed driving
lately I only get about 19-20...
better get me back up to 25-26!

I've already purchased and installed the $68.00 KS off Ebay...it IS a genuine Nissan part and worked just fine. In fact, I've already ordered another for my my 200SX...you can definitely trust the seller.

Just purchased one yesterday along with an O2 sensor from oxygensensors.com for a total of $135. I priced them at an auto parts store over the weekend and was looking at paying about $250. THANK GOD FOR INTERNET PRICES! I can't wait to put them in.
