Installed my MEVI today! and now I can't drive my car

I finally installed my MEVI today. It was actually pretty easy. It didn't take too long either. i think it was harder running the wiring than the actual install. I got the vacuum stuff right on the first try and it opens at 5300rpm on the dot. (my summit switch is set at 3600rpm)

I installed the switch a couple of days ago as well as a led so I know when it's activated.

I had the screws welded so I wouldn't live in constant fear of one of them falling out.

Now for the bad part. I only got to drive around the block to warm up my car and then came back and had my dad check to make sure it was working properly. I went into the house for a minute and my transmission was locked up. . I decided to rebuild my trans rather than buying a used one again and risk it going out in another 20K. My transmission locked up a week after I got it back in and the shop that rebuilt it got it back out of gear and said it was some freak accident. Now again it happened tonight. I'm going to make sure they actaully pull the transmission this time and figure out what they did wrong as well as pay both of my towing bills. I'm so pissed right now, I just added the mevi and I can't even drive my car.

You welded the screws?
A simple drop of the correct Locktite would have been sufficient.

So you say, many have used locktite and still had them come loose eventually.
I think welding them was a good way to go. You can nver be to carefull.

yep, I'm a 5 spd. This is really pissing me off because I never had this problem before and the first time the trans locked up they claimed it was some freak accident "but we got it loose and we won't charge you" Now a few weeks later it happens again. The first time they tried to blame it on my linkage going. I was like wtf, it never did this until you messed with my trans and now it locked up. They didn't really have an answer for that. Guess I'll be driving the 97 Max tomorrow

They should fix it and be fully responsible for it.
