Forged Wheels - Where? How much?

Hi All,
If I'm looking into forged wheels, where else can I look besides the obvious places such as tirerack, where you have the BBS, Kosei, Gramlights, Wedsport, etc.

Besides Volks, what other brands of forged wheels are popular/recommended for our cars?

How much should one expect to pay for a "decent" set of forged wheels?

thanks

If I had to do it again, I'd go through tirerack. They had prices cheaper than local shops, authorized or not. Plus, they have some kinda hookup so I wouldn't hafta wait 3months to ship from Japan.

If you go to the Centerline website, they have wheels (I think everything they have that fits a Maxima is forged) for sale directly from them that are cheaper than at a dealer. Even with a pretty good deal, it will be in the $1k vicinity for a set of them. www.centerlinewheels.com

Centerline

I've been to Centerline, and everything that they make now is forged.

The prices are great, but they only sell 7in wide wheels for our cars, and only in 42mm offset. If I ever want to put bigger brakes on (6th gen on a 2K2 looks pretty easy), they'd never fit.
Also, they no longer paint/powdercoat wheels. Polished or chrome only.

$1K is certainly a lot better than the $2K-$3K that people seem to be spending on forged or large chrome wheels, but I know that I'll be putting brakes on sooner or later.

Good point about the width and offset. Sometimes I get used to 3rd gen stuff. More guys go with 17x7. I didn't know they stopped powder coating. I really like the Black Pearl color a lot. Much better than any other gunmetal/dark grey that I have seen.

Good luck and keep us updated on what you find.

At Centerline, all the "Sport Compact, +Offset" series of wheels seem to be for cars with narrower wheels than us. As I think about it, there aren't many Asian import FWD cars with wheel widths like ours. The Acura TL comes to mind.

Maybe I'll take a step back and look for forged RWD wheels for the 350Z, Z32, and even Mustang, considering the success of mounting Mustang parts on our cars. The problem on the Mustang is that once into American Muscle, you get into Backspace measurments instead of offsets, possibly confusing the issue.

Otherwise, I'm considering setting up a GD for the 17x7 42mm wheels, even if I don't get a set.
