Precaution to take when storing car for winter

hey guys, I will soon ( 1 or 2 weeks ) store the maxima for the winter, I was wondering if I need to take some precaution while the car is store.

I plan on starting the car once in a while just to keep it running ok. A friend suggested that I remove the 4 wheels and put the car on block.

Thanks

AA

When I store mine, I put carpet squares under each wheel so that I don't get flat spots on the tires. And I put a cover over the car. This year I'm putting some Stabil into the gas tank, but I'll start up the car every once and a while.
