Do we have directional sawblades?
Do we have directional sawblades?
I've noticed on several 4th gens including mine that the directional sawblades are facing opposite directions on each side. Is this how they are supposed to be or are there some maxima owners running out two different sets of wheels on their cars?

When I switched from the factory honeycombs on my GLE to some sawblades, my car turned like it was on rails and the torque steer was gone.. un-buh-leev-able.
it's just a way for Nissan to save some money. Rather than design two different wheels and make sure that they are put on the correct side of the car, they designed one so they could slap them on anywhere. and also, if you look at the car from one side, the rims match from front to back so a casual glance wouldn't tell you that the other side is facing the opposite direction.

yes, the blades face one way on one side, and the opposite way on the other side...

Z32's also have a right side and left side design, it is supposedly designed to cool the brakes. I know ours aren't a functional design but still, if they built a whole car I don't know why they couldn't go the extra mile and design one more wheel.
I wonder if they realized what they were doing when they designed the wheels like that. It wouldn't be such a big deal but if you compare the two different looks there is a pretty big difference. It's like walking around with two right feet

I guess the 15's were meant to be upgraded from the beginning

I just upgraded my 15s a little over a month ago. I bought a new set of Yokohama Avid H4S for them as an 11th birthday
present.

all the more reason to get some 5 spokes. now that i know a major point of my car is asymmetrical im gonna be very angry all the time. Symmetry = my favorite thing ever. Id have 2 steering wheels if it were cheap!
Here's the best way to show it, this is venompwr2's car from another thread:

Notice how the passenger side rims are agressive looking like they cut into the road, but the driver's side rims look less agressive. I'm sure I'm not the first person to notice this.
Until today I actually thought I just had the wrong two wheels on one side of my maxima. I wonder if anything else on my car is backwards

As long as its not the driver, you will be just fine!
uhhh....is it not possible to just flip the tires around?? that way it is symmetrical...nissan probably got lazy and threw all the tires on each rim the same way...less thinking involved

it's the RIM we are talking about not the tire
and if you mean the rim, how do you mount the rim flipped around?

They point forward on one side, and backward on the other. If you lay them on the ground together they all face the same way.
I'm pretty sure Nissan didn't make right & left wheels.

Thank you, that was very helpfull. Now if everyone who doesn't have saw blades please post what you do have, this will help us narrow it down to who may be of service.

I cant stop laughing
