first time at track

just got back from the tracks, Bryon Illionois. Kinda started to rain so they wouldn't let anyone run good thing i left cuz right after it started to pour drops the size of a basketball. Well got in like 10 runs, there were couple of M3, rsx, and tons of muscle cars. Most of the runs were around 15 my best run is below. Tell me wat you guys think. Any improvement anywhere?

R/T - .424
60 - 2.253
330 - 6.283
1/8 - 9.588
MPH - 74.80
1000 - 12.446
1/4 - 14.874
MPH - 92.32

Yeah not a bad 60' time but its not unrealistic to get it lower and run quicker. You're an auto I assume?

I just took a look at the atmospheric conditions too, sortof poor. Your car definately has a 14.6 in it with maybe a little better launch, 2.20 easy, 2.15 not impossible to do, and better weather conditions (less humidity, higher pressure, lower DA).

That's what you did at byron assuming you didn't sign up for brackets, gambler's race, etc, which I'm sure you didn't.

it's just what they call it... most people that race as you probably noticed have race cars that they actually have to change the setup on to get the best times out of it, hence they are tuning their car.

Isn't a 92 mph trap speed kind of low for an 02? This is the VQ35 right?

One more thing. His 60 feet is better than my best 60 feet but my trap is 2 mph higher? What's the reason for this?

Reason is your car is not pulling as hard down low, his is not pulling as at the end of the 1/4 mile.

Would that mean that the VQ30DE + MEVI has more top end than the VQ35DE?

Auto VQ35's trap only a bit higher than stock 3.0 5-speeds stock. But that has a lot do to with the sh*tty auto gearing. Manual VQ35's trap something like 96-98 mph stock.
