Wsp Y+5th gen muffler+straight pipe?????
Wsp Y+5th gen muffler+straight pipe?????
Hey guys, I have a 5th gen muffler on hands from a friend and I was thinking to put it on with a removed resonator from stock b-pipe, basically make a straight pipe. I have a Warpspeed y pipe and hacked air box. Do you have any idea if this will be loud or not, how would be the sound? Any opinions are WELCOME!Thank you.
It wont be loud, but that's subject of opinion, and this is coming from a 5.5genner who has ONLY headers and hates exhaust noise.
I would leave the resonator ... but again, another opinionated thread... so let mother earth chime in and contribute to yet another pointless thread
IMO

ok... we refer to "B" pipe ase the piece between the cat and rear muffler.
And most stock "B" pipes in your world have pre cats....not resonators.
I've heard of "F" pipe, but most commonly in the 4th gen areana, we refer to y-pipes as y-pipes, stock or not and b pipes as what the first sentence of my post stated.

to what NMex said... calling a y-pipe a b-pipe is

The reason i bring this up is because the y-pipe in itself is the ultimate noise maker in these cars, and if you eliminate that, then you'd be fine with essentially any exhaust combination(minus the y-pipe) and it still wont be much more noticeable than stock, as far as noise is concenred.. .Stick to one topic.
I got a stock y pipe, stock b pipe, no resonator and magnaflow muffler. It has an even and very low sound. It is not loud at all...that is until I rev it up. Basically people say it sounds like a muscle car.
