will carb cleaner work in place of throttle body cleaner? thanks guys

ok just wanted to make sure since ive heard some guys be adamant about not using carb cleaner for their throttle body for whatever reason - i did however

Apparently, carb cleaner is too harsh (key word is apparently). Our TBs have a teflon coating on the inside to help prevent deposit/gunk build up. Some carb-cleans are apparently too harsh and damage that coating. How much of that is true and how much is rumour I don't know... but this is what I always use FYI:

it's just a spray solvent...
I mean I might have missed something but as far as I know Carb cleaner is the same as TB cleaner. It might have something to do with the coating on the TB...
I'd like to see what some other people say
I just got some Carb and TB cleaner today.

You are welcome. That CRC Stuff is not available at Autozone - I always pick up 2-3 cans at a time from PepBoys.
