Chariot 60 foot times and 1/4mile et's (was a 14.0 possible?)
Last week I was concerned about racing on a track that is 364 feet above sea level (old track 12-16 feet above sea level). And wondering when does it start to become a factor for 1/4 mile et's ?
From that thread at about 1,000 ft above sea level things may start to change. But that density altitude is the true measure of how good the atmosphere is for racing.
Well after making close to a dozen passes last weekend, I wanted to put up my times. Weather and 60 foots played the biggest factor overall, but I was surprised at how well the chariot ran considering I had some of the worst 60 foots I have ever gotten in the maxima. This track may be the one that is to tough to tame ? On Saturday I had a run where I shifted into third and lost traction and the rpms went whacky ? lol I know I dont have that much power.
On many of these if I would have ran the usual 2.12 60 foot (50% of the time) to low 2.2 60 ft. overall my times would have been fantastic. With everything the car has been through she is still running just as good as back home. Im still very happy the car. Its hard to say what I could, shoulda , woulda ran ! Im still wondering if i would have squeaked out a 14.0x if the track was a good hooking one ?

after looking over all these times, it appears 14.1 is more within reason. its was certainly not what i was used to, lol ! got to figure out a better technique for that track, just couldnt hook ?

60 foots in the fall usually suck hard because of a cold track and sometimes poor prep. I normally pull 2.0's and the best I could manage was a 2.2 last time out.
If you did 14.24 with a 2.27 60', with a 2.12 60 it would probably have been a low 14.0, 14.01-14.03 or so. People often say .1 off the 60' is .2 at the end of the track but from my experience it's more like .1 = .15. So .15 on the 60' would be something like .22-.23

bring the
what on earth are fusion ? 2.0 60 foot on some fusions, man keep up the good work. with your mad skillz and a mod here and there your max will be hard to beat.
last i heard you were off having a look at a vq35de equipped infiniti , go with it !
im racing a 1/8th bracket style race this weekend, and trying to think about what is the best way to launch a manual and be consistent each time ? any ideas or theories ?
Definately idle. I always launch from idle on street tires, especially for bracket racing. Put your foot on the gas pedal and the MOMENT the last yellow comes on release and floor it. That usually nets .040-.050 reaction times.

hey ceasar man thanx for the congrats! I am very consistent with 60's now. the best technique that i have learned to use for launching is launching at 3000 and letting my foot off the clutch until right before it engages and then feather very softly. The lsd helps out a little bit man. My best 60' without the LSD is 2.12 best with the LSD is 2.089 so it helps man makes me more consistent. BTW ceasar i am bout to go turbo with the pfi kit and GT35r turbo. E-manage ultimate and EXTRELY GOOD TUNING. along with a few other little things including slicks, maybe water injectors, mevi, etc.
