I get price at $330 to replace my water pump and thermostat. i really don't have the tools or expierence to do this and my father already told me he doesn't want to get involve with this project. You guys think that is reasonable. or is this guy screwin wit me??? He also said that he'd pressure test my system and check everything else with my car and (including adding Freon???). I always thought a normal mechanic would check the car anyways, just to BS more money outta ya??? Let me know!

 

Our cars don't have any Freon in them. Freon (R12) was used much earlier in A/C systems.
The cooling system, where the water pump and thermostat reside uses anti-freeze.

$330 bucks sounds reasonable for a water pump and thermostat replacement, especially if that price includes the parts.

 

It actually Doesn't include the price, but he said that he is willing to go ahead and change my Serpentine belt while he at it and i am going to try and push him to fix my CV Boot. No parts are included, just 330 For labor???

 

A bit on the high side, considering you can do the belts and thermostat with simple hand tools and 2 hours of your time. Water pump is a bit harder, you should buy a haynes manual to see if you're up to such a task. $330 is alot of money, money that can be used for something else.
