Proud new owner of my FIRST maxima....

2003 Maxima SE!!
-Polished Titanium
-TE and ME packages
-27,400 miles
-extended 100K powertrain warranty (thanks for the advice due to *possible* oil issues)
-Black Leather
-Price paid (since everyone wants to know): $17,500 plus $350 for the extended warranty.

I think I probably should've paid a total of $500 less, but it's the car I was looking for and I needed to buy (I'm borrowing a car right now).

Thanks again for all the hundreds of questions answered!! I just wanted to make sure I knew what I wanted - you guys helped BIG TIME

Man that's awesome you found one so quickly! Congrats, the polished titanium has always been one of my favorites, and I was looking for one for a while, and finally gave in to just getting my second choice of black. Where'd you pick this one up at? We meet up all the time here in Charlotte, most of the OG Raleigh crew is gone, but you're more than welcome to hangout with us here. SR20DEN one of our master techies here would be happy to help with any installs you may want in the future. Congrats again.

Nice snag....manual or auto? Is the warranty you purchased a factory "Nissan" Extended warrenty? If so, how in the world did you manage to get it at that price?!?!

6-speed....ofcourse. That's gotta be a sin to buy as an auto.

It's factory Nissan - as in I was told I could go to any Nissan dealership since I bought it in New Jersey (7 hours away!). Hope that's true. Also, they're selling it to me as "certified." He said if they certify it (144 point check or something) then it extends the warranty an extra 3 years (total of 8 years) or an extra 40K (total of 100K) on powertrain. He said for the dealership to certify it costs him $350, which i'm sure is b.s, but I looked at it as $350 for "extended warranty."

I'm sure I'll be searching and figuring out what I need to do to take care of it (ie, synthetic vs. normal oil?, etc). Hopefully I won't have any problems. Now I just need to figure out how to get from NC to NJ!! Gotta start calling some friends that owe me favors.

Ha, I bought mine in Jersey also. I just had the car shipped to me. I think it was about 3-4 hundred bucks. Make sure you do a transfer of warranty before 30 days after you purchase the car. 35 bucks to nissan motors and a request to transfer signed by both parties, or else you'll have a hard time using the extended warranty because it's still in the previous owner's name. Good luck getting your max to nc.

From what I was told - HLSD (limited slip). If you got this option you also got the drilled metal pedals. Now someone brought up the point you could just add them aftermarket, but if not the case, then you have HLSD.

My uncle actually had a meeting in New York and was driving from Philly yesterday, so it was perfect timing. I was lucky.

yoooo congratulations!!! you're my twin!!
I"m glad you gave in and paid the extra $$...it's worth it for a low mileage max. POST PICS when you get it!!!

btw...the metal drilled pedals come with the HLSD...but you can add that on later.

Acme must have acquired that recently. I dont recall seeing that on the lot when I picked up the plates for my Murano. (If so, I would have taken it out for test drive.) Congrats!!!

It all started out you talking stating the 6MT doesn't mean **** .... I said after 70mph it is... and this thread is about a Stock 6MT, and you posting in it assumes your responsibility to stay on topic.... and you went by stating if you added a certain mod, you would '****' on a 6MT ...

If you're N/A and 4AT like me.... I would put my retirement on my theory that I will pull away from you.

I think I probably should've paid a total of $500 less, but it's the car I was looking for and I needed to buy (I'm borrowing a car right now).

Thanks again for all the hundreds of questions answered!! I just wanted to make sure I knew what I wanted - you guys helped BIG TIME

Congrats on the purchase. You will enjoy the car for years to come.

driving a 6 speed purely doesnt mean its all about speed, or driving in a straight line for 1/4 mine. its also about the driving enjoyment. i used to drive a stick and now i have auto. i do miss driving a stick mainy because i like to shift when i want it to, not when the car wanted to. i love to down shift before a turn and just go WOT soon as i make that turn, you cant do that with an auto. maybe you could but i cant, you cant down shift, and many other things but im not gonna go into all that. stick is not all about speed or going in a straight line, its also about feeling oneness with your car and in control of your engines rpms. some people like that and some people dont. so when he said its a sin to get an auto, dont get offended. i dont mind driving an auto at all.
