edit: ok whoops that title sucks. it only works on speed 4.

before you flame, i read the stickies, and followed the directions to fix it. i cleaned the connection on the board, and dropped a bead of solder on there... and it didn't work.

Anyone else not successful the first time? am i missing something? anyone have any tips or ideas why it might not be working?

 

The exact same thing happened to me-

You have 2 options (buy a new chip at the dealer for like 40 bucks) which is what i did and i havent had a proble yet (it was worth it)

Or find one at a salvage yard if you can-

The dealership informed me that those chips were faulty, and they actually have a NEW version that they will sell you and you can definately instal it yourself-
