I just talked with the Service guys two weeks ago on my 2000, and its a glorified oil change. All they do is check fluids and do visual inspection of some things. If you call your dealership they will tell you what it involes...

If i remember right, all they do is check fluid levels... Tranny, Power Steering, Brakes... Also they inspect the brakes and the axle boots for beaks and leaks. Thats it... i think. Correct me if i am wrong. i would just check your bakes for waer and the axle boots. At 60k you should have no problems with those.

Fuel filter is not included because the Nissan gods put it in the tank as a non maintnance part. What filter do you know of that does not need to be replaced? What a pain in the azz to change took me near 6 hours to complete.

Ya well then your a magician or a ASE/Master mech "Looked at your profile". Now that I have done it & have learned from my mistakes maybe I could do it in a hour & a half start to finish. I guess thats why you do what you do.

On maximas I dont think it is worth it to pay that much for a 60k and I work at a dealer. some cars u just dont need to take to the dealer for it--for my dealer its like 500-600 bucks and it only takes me 0.8 tenths of an hour to do one and i get paid 4 hours for it,so the tech always gets blamed for ripping the customer off when we have no control over price(on a manual tranny less--no machine to hook up for the tranny flush). u can do it all yourself except maybe the tranny flush--but just get one of the coupons and take it in for just the tranny flush. usually the only thing that a maxima is going to need is brakes and belts, and if the brake and power steering fluids are dirty would do a flush.
