Does anybody know how often coilpacks should be replaced and what are the best ones to get?

 

Coil packs are SUPPOSED to last a lifetime, however, as you've probably grown to know, that is not the case with Maximas. The OEM coils are Hanshins, but a better replacement seems to be Mitsubishis..

 

so your sayin i can use Mitsu coil packs and where would i get them from is there a specific part number i need or are they pretty much the same?

 

I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima and the engine started running really choppy and would almost stall out. I had a diagnostic run the car and it said I had a bad Speed Sensor and bad Knock Sensor. I replaced both parts and the engine is still running choppy. I did a self diagnostic test and it’s giving me error codes:

1008 - EVAP canister purge volume control valve
1302 - MAP/BARO SW Solenoid/Valve (What is this?)

Has anyone experienced this? Could this just be bad ignition coils?

I don't think the coils packs are from a Mitsubishi CAR, but rather made by Mitsubishi - for Nissan? I'm not exactly sure...someone around here told me I could find Mitsubishis from a guy named Dave B. If you're reading this, please enlighten us!

 

they are mitsubishi made for Nissan and other japaneese cars.

What? im not sure i understand, its a transverse mount so its front and back, not right and left.

 

The firewall side is Right and the front of the motor towards the radiator is Left...

 

The parts people sell the coils as being for right bank or left bank

 

Then why is my '97 misfiring?

 

because coils can go bad on any of our cars, but there just much more common on a 99.
