I changed both front O2 sensors with new ones and the knock sensor since the car did not pass emisssions. I still have the freaking 0901 and 1001 code which is the O2 sensor code and cant seem to get rid of the CEL no matter what I do. I even installed a 5th gen O2 sensor and it still throws the freaking codes. Any other suggestions? Yes I changed the knock sensor.
This is a 1996 Maxima.

Check the o2 sensor fuse... it's in the fuse box inside the car.

update after adjusting the IACV the CEL all of a sudden went away. However the light is not on but the codes are stored inside the ECU and wont clear.

there is a fuse for a O2 sensor?

Yes - there is a fuse - because of the heater circuitry.

Not sure what's going on with your ECU codes.

I replaced both front and rear sensors and it's still throwing 0901, and 1001...
I'm going to check the fuse and see if that might be the cause!!!

Ok I just checked the fuse and it's fine....
My car's inspection was due in january, and i'm tired of trying to find places to pass my car.
I have one place that is over looking my hids, cv boot, exhaust, tint, etc...
They just can't get around this freaking code..........
Sorry to hijack the thread, but we've got the same problem!

Haha, that's funny. I love it when people find old threads and think they're new. I don't know why but it's really amusing to me. :-)
