will leaving shock set to soft wear it out faster?

i have the jic a1 set up, but it did turn out to be a bit rough here in NY, i set it to the softest setting and its ok. i know that if u pair up soft shoks with stiff springs u will blow the shoks damn fast, but since this jic set up is meant to be used together should it still be used mostly on 2 or 3 settings, or will leaving it on soft wear it out faster?

I doubt it would be that noticeable.

However - It is a moving part, and moving parts that move "more" will wear out more quickly.
