5 speed internal tranny problems

I am about to be on my third tranny, or atleast rebuild the current one. My question is, "What are other org members finding wrong with their trannys? I have one tranny that I have blown the teeth off the diff, and the current one I have a worn main bearing. Where have other members purchased rebuild kits for the 5-speed?

Worn main bearing before. Wasnt on the org then and replace that tranny with another 96 tranny. Now this one is going out the door.

If you have the tool/patience/and know how getting a rebuilt kit might serve you better.

I had a driverside axle leak, which most likely points to the differential bearing failure common to 95-early 97 5MT trannies. The car was literally pouring tranny fluid when we brought the car home after my purchase. Man was I pissed. I went a good couple of months without my first car. Terrible. There have been 5, yes FIVE, transmissions in my current car, all replaced by the wholesaler I bought the car from. Finally got a solid, 98 tranny with 40k miles on her. Runs smooth.

Rebuild them yourself.

Not worried about the rebuild part of the task, just as where to purchase a good rebuild kit.
