Let's see your manual shifter *****!

Ok gents....I'm in the market for aftermarket shifter *****. I want to get some ideas from you manual folks on what kind of shifter ***** you have. I'm thinking of either leather or other types. Post your shifter **** pix here.

I kinda like this one:

Man I just can't seem to accept a price like that just for a shift ****. Same material, just the name. I still have my OEM leather-wrapped **** but the leather is all scuffed and scratched up. I wonder if there's a place that can re-wrap this ****.

haha, like an *** in fishnets! there are better ***** out there, but i think the best is the simplistic AE ****. you may be able to find a good deal in the classifieds (that was the only reason I bought one) but otherwise, nearly $50 is quite pricey when you can get a nice one for around $20.

get what you like and what's in your price range. if you like that first one, go for it. but i think there are some better looking ones on ebay, IMO. good luck

That is why I created this thread in the hopes that not all members have gone with the AE **** and have some other ***** to show me. And while I'm at this, I am not insterested in any of the CE products either.

I have a leather **** I took off a 3rd gen at the junkyard. I actually like it quite a bit, it's better than the stock plastic one that came with the car, and the crappy universal leather one I had previously.

You should take your stock leather shiftknobs and strip the leather off... you are left with a nice looking black rubber shiftknob... although if you have large hands it will feel kind of small..

That's actually what I did: however, I sanded it down a little to remove the stitching imprint. Anyways, I have had two aftermarket shift ***** in my car, and I can safely say that I like my stock, de-leatherized (not by choice for obvious reasons) feels so much better for me. If you're wondering, I had a generic plastic ball shifter ****, and I also had a Momo-ripoff of the raptor style. Didn't like either one for extended periods of time, and with the addition of my STS, I have found myself going back to stock, cause it feels so good.

You got any more pix of your ****? I can probably "strip-down" my stock one as well. Maybe painting it a diff color...say graphite, then putting some kind of protective coating on it?? I might be on to something here.

I'm not going to lie to you: right now, since I've sanded it down and NOT painted it yet, it looks like ****. Actually, it was shown in that STS thread I made, I'll dig up the post. Link for the STS/**** pics.

Are you going to paint it?? The only thing I'm trying to figure out is what protective coating to use, not sure if just a plain clear coat will do.

I have a worn leather MX-6 shift **** I found at a junkyard. It looks like crap, but I LOVE how it feels. It's what I have until I get my AE shift ****. I also have a junkyard boot from a Taurus SHO that's AWESOME quality, and I custom fit it to my auto shifter trim. It works good with my pacesetter STS.

Here's my Momo phantom, carbon fiber on top with leather bottom, I like this **** so much with both looks and feel that it's my second, my first made it through 3 cars. The new owner on the third car insisted the **** come with the car so I went out and bought another for my Max after trying two previous *****.

that is the only pic I have, sorry its so small but cardomain ****ing sucks. I think the only way to go for a shift *** is just a round sphear, I dont really like thoes bigger ones that fit to your hand, when I get my STS im getting just a regular ball ****.

I just got my STS in last night. I'm putting that in with my new shifter support bracket and return spring this weekend.

As I said, not my choice, the leather was busted already when I tried to remove it for another shift ****, where all the leather ripped off. So far out of the two shift ***** I've tried besides stock, I like my stock one better. And Dr-Max, I don't know if I will paint it or not, it depends if I definately keep this one, or find a leather wrapped 4/5G **** for cheap.

Mustang **** gets my vote. My leather wrapped is falling off and the mustang **** looks like a great one, might get that one but i'm sure it costs an arm and a leg. I wonder if its threaded right for out cars?

For anyone with the whole blue led interior, Pep boys has a shifter with the 1-5+R gears lit up in blue, it looks pretty damn good, meet up with giggls97se and he has the shift **** plus a short throw, looks great.

I LOVE the 5.5G ****, but it's a 6spd. If they made one exaclty like that, only 5spd, I would be all over it.

MOMO F16 leather/chrome **** with momo boot... the boot is threaded onto the base of the **** for a flush fit, and I cut the boot to the shape of the stock boot, and sewed in the wire ring for a stock fit... looks fantastic
