Why don't you just bypass it and have so you can turn it on/off whenever you want? That's what I did...

well, yeah i thought of that but i just dont want 300 switches...i already have

*the switch for the navigation to video
*switch for my strobes
*switch for my LED underbody kit
*switch for my neon underbody kit...i got this one first, my front tube broke so i replace the whole thing with a new LED kit till the neon goes bad..it wasnt my intention to have two sets !!
besides i would like the camera to go on automatically and not me having to put the car in reverse, then pause to switcht the camera on the move on...yeah i know is not all that but i think it is more neat is it goes on by itself...

thank you for the sugestion though...taken into account..

You shouldn't have to add another switch...what head unit are you using? I was thinking that, like mine, you can have it hooked into the HU? But again not sure of your entire set up...

i have the stock navigation system...sorry i shoulda mentioned that before... yeah i have the stock navugation with an adapter which allows me to have video input to the nav screen...for the ps2 or any other video input i have a swith but for the backup camera i need a ground source or...a switch.

I don't know why you need a negative switching reverse but, in the driver's kick panel there is a green wire with a white stripe. This is your POSITIVE reverse signal. I would just ground the camera and use this wire to turn the camera on. Now if you really need a negative signal use this wire and wire up a relay to change it to negative.

Good luck....make sure you test the wire before you tap into it!

exactly what rabenoja said.
easiest and quickest way to do it.
you have the pos wire... if you need a neg wire, simply connect the pos wire to a relay and connect one end of the switched side to ground and the other to the - input.
