Looking good. Should be a fun weekend.

You must have a garage, because I know you wouldnt survive doing this outside in the driveway.

well, since you're opening up the rear side of the crank, you might as well go beyond the timing plate and replace the rear main seal. if you put everything together, and that rear main seal happens to leak or what not, you might have slight bit of oil leaking into the clutch and that'll cause slipping. it's what had happend to me. just a good suggestion.

Yeah bro, its going to be good outside on saturday. 48 Deg sunny! Yes, I was told not to mess around with the rear main seal. I will clean up the back side of the engine and use black RTV silicone around the gasket to help it with leaks if there are any which im pretty sure there might not be unless nissan didn't change the seal 4 years ago. I do have 3 TO bearings. Those are the just incase things. On my new trans it already came with one. I am planning on replacing the pilot bearing as well. I do have the tool for that. Anyone replace theirs? Last thing I must do is call stillen up and get the correct tq specs on that flywheel. I will let you all know how the operation went. Keep them comments coming

VLSD???????? From my own experience if the rear main isn't leaking don't mess with it. Mine wasn't leaking but I had a shady mechanic do it as a precaution when i had my VLSD tranny intalled. Bad idea. Now it weeps ever so little.

$1850 or something in that area for a new 5 speed trans shipped from CA to NJ. Not bad if you ask me. Let me warn you now it will take up to 2-3 weeks for you to get this transmission.

No problem on the pilot, guess the hardest part is taking it out, otherwise it slips right in.

I made a reference document for torque specs: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=440195

Good to hear you guys got the work done. Congrats.

How did you solve the flywheel issue? did you just bolt it up without that extra ring that is on the OEM flywheel?

you old cluch looks like it was really starting to give out, a lot of heat spots, and such.

Have you done a test drive? or too tired and will do in the mourning?

my only concern is. . .

Damn! you just let the hub hang like kids in the mall!

Yeah, it doesnt do much damage to the hub, when I did my suspension and tranny swap, it hung just like that, no problems whatsoever.

hahaha, I put back the stock flywheel. Used 100 grit and made the surface really nice and smooth. Then cleaned it off as best as I can. Travish cleaned up the rear of the engine and fixed the rear main seal. Had a slight oil leak. No I did not test drive my car yet. Everything felt good the car was running great. Yeah freddy hopefully we wont need a little heater and "booty" phone calls hahahaha.
