Installed exhaust...some weird sounds..Help needed!

Hey guys, I recently got Matty's old exhaust(its a SP replica from OBX), and at low RPMs there is some weird sound like growl, bubbling(). Its working good at mid to high RPM... I have a Warpspeed y-pipe and stock cat. Wasn't like this before.Do you know what it could be? Any info is appreceated! Thanks a lot!

Dmitry

P.S. When I was removing the system, I managed to damage really little of the inside of cat, could it be the problem?

If you have the sound between 1100-1800ish rpm it's the Warpspeed.

When you say wasn't like this before do you mean on Matty's car or your previous exhaust setup. I hope you mean the 1st one because sound can vary infinately with the setup (diameter, material, resonator(s), muffler, y, equal vs. unequal length)

It sounds like you are getting the growl from the unequal length y-pipe.

Yes, I mean on Matty's car and mine also. Before this catback I had y-pipe with the stock catback. How do I know if its a y-pipe for sure? Do you know if warpspeed will replace thios y-pipe? Thanks a lot!

I mean, if it's just a small burble I'm not sure what they would tell you. Especially since you have non-Warpspeed components on the rest of the exhaust.

+1 ... youve gone from 2 or 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 .. wider piping means more sound !

The piping is 2 1/4, i put the stock gaskets on it and it fits perfect, its just all mandrell bent. I have everything tighten up for SURE, but it seems like it might be a sound from something loose . The thing is that stock catback(b pipe to be exact) was in the air above the support bar, and this one is liing on it right at where the resonator ends, so could that be from this? And what is unrestricted?(sorry for the stupid question ). Overall sound is good just drone in the cabin, but just that sound freaks me out, I get like paranoid that its not right....if you know what I mean Thanks for the input!

Dont mean to hijack thread. I got a similar problem but i got a cattman y-pipe and everything else stock except for hacked airbox. Even at idle its a bit loud. And its pretty loud 2000rpm and under when driving. Is this normal? What could be the problem?

anything u do to alter the stock exhaust...including y-pipe and madrel bent pipes offers less restriction and more sound......with a y-pipe u are freeing up a considerable amount of air so its def gonna get louder.....of u still feel it too loud..go through and check gaskets....especially if u reused old gaskets....u might want to replace them

Instead of using the threading from the flanges where the cat an y meet, i used bolts and nuts on the other side. I did real tight. Would this cause a problem of proper sealing of the gasket?
