6.5" all around... I don't know what 6.5s you were trying to put in but you're wrong...

I have these in my car.

Actually I have 63.5i but these are just the new model for 2005
I would bet they are just as good or better
They sound good and can kick up some decent bass for just 6.5". and they can handle way more power than my pioneer head unit can throw at it

i installed speakers all around and 6.5s fit fine...but if you have a huge magnet on them like for example the audiobahn amd60q or similar products, then you have to make custom brackets for the fronts cause the speaker basket will be too big..

or, you can be adventurous like me and install 6 x 9s in the rears.....I installed a complete MB Quart setup with the 6.5 components up front and the 6x9s in the rear. Of course, I had to cut the holes and make brackets/mounts for both the front and the rear, but trust me, its really worth it. Some people will say you can't tell the difference between 6.5s and 6x9s in the rear, but let's see them say that when you add an amplifier to the mix....

6x9s are not any louder than 6.5s, and 6.5s provide better quality, hands down.

You keep telling yourself that.....I had MB Quart 6.5s in the rear as well and took a chance installing the 6x9s....needless to say, there's no comparison, the 6x9s are louder and clearer. Maybe you should read up on speaker aspects and car audio in general before you go making such comments. BTW, you DO know that 6x9s can handle more power, right? Oh, guess not....

I was planning on changing out my Bose head unit in my 97 SE max, and went to best buy. This guy said I had to get PAC02 that cost around $60, so I won't blow my bose speakers. Any one have an idea where I can get this thing called PAC02? Thanks

I also put 6x9s in mine and they made a huge difference over the 6.5s. More square inches to move air.

I just ordered 6.5's for the front and 6x9s for the rear without knowing I had to modify for the 6x9s

I guess I'll be doing some modification in the future
