what's in your 4th gen. dash? pics

i know this is in the 4th gen forum, but seems like a better choice.

kind of like show us you trunk.

what do you have in your dash? double din, single din and pocket, double din h/u, screen, eq's, custom setup?

looking for ideas and interested in what people have done.

pics would be nice.

Right now a Microvision and a single din hole, hopefully to be filled in tomorrow with an Alpine 9860. Previously A microvision w/ a Clarion DRZ and before that an Eclipse 8053

The 8053

DRZ: The nicest HU I'll prolly ever own, used it for a whole few months

Did you make a frame or something to hold the screen in place?

no, i had to kinda fabricate some pieces on there so it wouldn't look as stupid. before, when i had a cd player and pocket in there, around the edges for the cd player i had to sand/shave down a bit to fit around the dash kit, when i took the cd player out and put the screen in, there were huge ugly gaps i had to cover.. the screen came with no trim. it looks kinda funny, but 10x better than before.

do you guys like the radio sticking out of the dash like that? if not you should spend a few minutes and flush mount it. it looks so much better. you just need to drill some holes in the factory brakett.

Whats wrong with the JVC? because I was thinking of getting one to play dvd music but I'm starting to look away because of the 1 set of 2v pre outs.

?? this is the Arsenal series, it has 2 sets, 5V preouts.

-its finikey. sometimes it stops playing by itself, and won't start again until you take the cd out.
-when you switch to radio, the cd continues to play (wierd)
-you can't fast forward or rewind Mp3s
-if you want to select song # 455 of 950, you have to put it on random, until you get close, then turn off random, and selecting it, but you cant turn off random without going up or down 10 songs because if you do, its starts the folder over again at song #1. difficult to understand, i know.. in other words you cannot just type in a number
- ^ this is a PIA without a screen
-crank the highs on the EQ and there still isn't enough highs (the EQ sucks basically)

other than all that its okay

To my knowledge, if you listening to a mp3 song on a mp3/cd, i don't think you can fastforward or rewind. I've have many mp3/cd player walkmans and none ever did them. I have a mp3 built in my dvd player and it doesn't either. I think its mainly because it reads it as a data and not actual music, altho it plays the music.

That JVC would be one of the cheapest dvd headunit's i can think of. Without going to other makes like Jensen and what not. I was looking into that for a while, untill i just gave up on it. Rather hunt for one with a TV tuner as well.

You can fast forward all you want on an mp3 cd. Everything I've ever used does allow me to fast forward and rewind them.

3 freakin screens?!

What type of bezel is that around the kenwood unit? Looks like carpet, but that could be the flash. Possible to paint some ABS silver?
