well no harm in reconnecting and using a harness to do it the right way. Also if it has gain control have you tried adjusting the screws?

Lol I bet..... it's not the worst thing in the world not to use one... but it is a better idea for sure to use on in order to be able to put it back to stock with ease.

I REALLY hope you don't mean the home electric screw-type wire nuts.

Invest in a crimper and some butt connectors, or at the very least, crimp caps.

Thanks, that worked perfectly and dosent sound to bad either for stock bose speakers!

as for those that are tired of Pac questions being posted STOP spending posts and time on the post its probably 1000 other post that you can read, and respond to, As far as the stickies they where checked and info was found but my post to see if anybody else doing the same thing had ran into this problem.

As long as there are new people joining the Org your probably going to have some of the same ? pop up occasionaly so either help out where u can or Don't!

Glad you got your sound straight man.......boy I tell you....too many big egos on this site.....
All that most of the people on this site do, is wait for somebody to post something slightly close to another post and "boom" let's flame him. Don't you have anything better to do? This topic was not covered at all. He wasn't asking how to hook it up. He was asking would it work if connected backwards. That's all. You guys need a life. I bet you wouldn't say half of that stuff in person.

I say these things in person too. It's not being smug, it's just educating people of common knowledge.

Educating people is one thing, And correct me if im wrong, isnt that part of what a forum is used for??? But to flame a question because you feel like you know everything there possibly is to know about Maxima's or what ever your reasoning is totally different!!!!

If the shoe fits.............

And anybody else that gets their rocks off by flaming posts that haven't been covered. Do some of you sit around all day and just wait for a repost? Give me a break. You need to read the whole post and stop skimming through just because you see "PAC".

By the way: I actually helped gtmuggs install the deck. It was an interesting question.

On a side note, if this is an attempt to "call me out" Please feel free to do so, in a PM. Although my phone number and address are not hard to find on here as it is Very open info for this forum.

I just re-read this entire thread.

No one even started to flame a question at all.
The question that was asked was, can a PAC be hooked up in the wrong direction. Then he went to explain the normal use of a PAC...not the backwards way. The PAC is harness specific, so it really can't be used backwards unless the harness is cut off...but why would someone do that?

So why is everyone getting upset? PAC questions, and this is no different, have been asked all the time, always with the same response.

BTW, you can ask anyone, I DEFINITELY do not feel or act that I know it all, or even close to it.

I am glad that your problem was resolved. I'm also glad that you were able to reconnect your factory harness. Some people do not have the intuition to cut it long.

Im glad i got it working too! and I did find the info given helpful I , Actually i was using the Pac 2 Universal not the (Pac Nis 2 that is Harness specific) And it turned out that it was connected backwards and thats what caused me to get power to the unit but no sound from the speakers

Also the original question i asked(Can the Pac 2 be connected backwards) was not found in the stickies it was more of a debate between me and fellow org member that was helping me do the install, so i decided to post the question on here.

As far as flaming goes i've seen it all to often a new person joins maxima.org and ask a question and really never stands a chance before the begins on what could of been an Honest question.

Ill be the second to admit i dont know everything about Maxima's thats why im on here!!
